Andy Pascua Obituary
He was an avid reader and a champion for social justice, culturally competent services. Andy was a primary participant in the Supreme Court case against the Wards Cove packing company for employment discrimination. He was also a lifetime member of the Filipino-American Community of the Yakima Valley. In his more recent years, he was employed by the University of Washington as the Assistant Director for the GEAR UP program.
He is survived by his wife Carrie; his children Terry, Cyndi, Joi, and godson Gene. He also leaves behind his brother John, sister-in-law Cindy, nephew Jonathan, and god-sister Joanne. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, Joseph, Mariah, Mario, John, Kyley, Andy, Niko, and Kincaid; along with great granddaughter, Isabella and his in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents Ambrocio and Helen Pascua, and father-in-law Pak Huie.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. at Merritt Funeral Home in Wapato.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 12th, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Wapato with
burial to follow at Reservation Community Memorial Park.
Anyone choosing to make a donation in Andy's honor please donate to the Filipino Youth Activities (FYA) drill team of Seattle.

Andy, I just learned of your passing. What a fine, funny, dedicated and compassionate man you were. I so enjoyed all of our times together working for cultural competence and systems that truly meet people's needs. You and your family will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry for the family's loss. My husband, Luis Cordero, worked with Andy with the Gear-up Program. He thought so much of Andy. Sadly, Luis passed away in 2013. I hope they are together laughing and telling jokes in Heaven just the way they did here. My deepest sympathies to you all - Alison Cordero (Selah, WA.)
