On February 10, 2023, Angela Anderson passed away in Reno, NV, from complications that developed from a previous surgery. She was 36 years of age.


Angela is survived by her dad, Rick Elamon of Russellville, KY; her husband, Jeffrey Anderson; her six children, Jordan (13), Leyton (11), Graysen (8), Lincoln (7), Bastion (4), and Langston (2); and siblings, Miranda, Richard, and Erica. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bobby and Irene Elamon, and her dear friends, Sarah Simonsen and “Uncle” Dan Hart.


Angela was born on June 30, 1986, in Russellville, KY. She attended Olmstead Elementary and Logan County High School, where she was an active member of the Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC). After graduation, in 2004, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy.


After completing Boot Camp and “A” School, Angela was assigned to the USS Frank Cable and stationed in Guam. During this tour, she was meritoriously advanced to Petty Officer Third Class, recognized as the Sailor of the Year, and, in 2007, earned an extremely competitive appointment to the United States Naval Academy (USNA).


Angela attended the Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS), where she excelled in her studies and earned the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal for her participation and coordination of over 2,000 volunteer service hours. She resigned from the USNA in 2008 to start her beautiful family and was later stationed at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, D.C. She completed her Associate of Applied Sciences in Business Management in 2012.


Angela medically retired in 2014 as a Petty Officer Second Class, completing nearly 10 years of military service. Her military achievements and awards include the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist Insignia, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2), Meritorious Unit Commendation (2), Navy “E” Ribbon (4), Good Conduct Medal (3), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3), Navy/Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon (3), Navy Rifle Marksman Ribbon, and Navy Pistol Expert Medal.


Angela and Jeffrey met in 2007 while attending NAPS. Jeffrey knew she was out of his league, but he was persistent, and they were married in 2009. They welcomed Jordan to the family in 2009, Leyton in 2011, Graysen in 2014, Lincoln in 2015, Bastion in 2019, and Langston in 2020. Seven boys and their Queen. After her Navy career, Angela was primarily focused on raising her boys. She taught them many invaluable life lessons, most importantly how to be godly young men who truly love others.


She did not let this full-time job stop her from serving her community. Angela was always active in her local church, military spouse group, and mom group, creating friendships that would transcend time and duty stations. Maya Angelou said, “people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Angela believed this, and chose to treat others with love and respect. From Virginia to Florida, to Texas, to Washington, and finally to Nevada, her selfless, fierce love for others allowed for countless lives to be genuinely elevated.


In addition to the aforementioned accomplishments, Angela was also a certified Yoga instructor and ACSM certified personal trainer, a successful Thirty-one and Norwex consultant for many years, an Exercise Physiologist at Island Hospital’s Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Center in Anacortes, WA, and a Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) Coordinator and volunteer for multiple years.


Angela’s hobbies included all things coffee, crafting, and any outdoor activity. Additional interests of hers were rowing, shooting, shopping, singing, furniture refurbishing, indoor rock climbing, hot tubbing, bonfires, hosting cookouts, spa days, meal prepping, working out, country music, dancing, spending time with her family, date nights, and loving on people.


A viewing is scheduled at 9:00 a.m. on February 25, 2023, at Oasis Community Church in Fallon, NV. The memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. followed immediately by a luncheon. Child care will be provided.


Thank you to all for the overwhelming love, kindness, and support you have shown the Anderson family during this time. The prayers, thoughts, meals, time, and financial support have been incredible and a source of light and hope during this painful time. We will all deeply miss Angela, but can rejoice in knowing “that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28 NKJV).

Angela was a wonderful young lady and a joy to has as a student. I was her principal while she was at Olmstead School. I saddens me so to see such a beautiful, talented young woman have to leave her family. Prayers of peace in the weeks and mts to come.

Thank you for being a loving, kind and caring friend when we were both pregnant and way after that. I’ve learned to meal plan because of you-my mum in Germany couldn’t believe it when I told her-, I learned that it’s ok to ask for help and those things will be with me for as long as I’m earth side. Angela was one of my first friends in preschool. We spent so much time together volunteering at the library, helping each other with our teenage issues, and building each other up. I loved her like a sister. Prayers for her husband and children. Thanks for being a light in this dark world.

I was so very sad to hear of Angela’s passing. This is a beautiful obituary. I’ve know and loved her for many years. The first time I met her I saw The Lord in her life. To the Whole Family, I knew Angela at NAPS back in 2007-08 and remember her coming to our Bible Study at the Chapel by the Sea. She had such a heart for God and I was blessed to have known her. Angela and her beautiful family moved in next door to us when we lived in Kingsville Tx(2016). We were both new to the area and became close friends. It really is special when you meet someone and you just click. Y’all Angela and I had some fun times
After the kiddos went to bed we would sand/stain/paint old pieces of furniture-yes in the dark We worked out together (well she worked out I couldn’t keep up . When my car was broke down Angela and Jeff let me borrow there’s(I had no clue how to start the car and Angela thought this was the funniest thing). I loved watching her sweet boys when she had errands to run. I also loved her cooking the girl could cook . Angela also had a black lab that kept me safe from the three robbers that snuck in our back fence.
I could go on and on with all our great times together.
Angela Anderson you will be missed so so so much. Such a sweet sweet soul with a beautiful spirit gone too soon. Rest easy beautiful lady.
