Angela DeVito Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 1, 2024.
Angela passed away peacefully at 94 years of age. She was a resident of Pleasant Hill since 1960. Beloved mother of Gary Ladd, Diane Hammond, Fran Alcorn family and Lorrie Payne family. Loving Nonni of Marie Barcelo family, Valerie Cutt family, Billy Davis family, Michael Harrington, Kristine Harrington family and Denise Jensen family. Survived by sister Vivian Demakas family. Angela was preceded in death by husband Fred DeVito, parents Frank and Frances Gandolfo, sisters Josephine Colla, Marie Piscitello, and loving son Ronald J. Ladd.

Angela grew up in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood. Her life was filled with Sicilian culture. Family dinners and special occasions were plentiful having dozens of cousins. Angela attended Galileo High School. She had a special interest and talent in Glee Club and writing short stories.

Angie began her career as an Office worker for Metropolitan Life and continued later at Customer Service at Sears catalog department in Concord. She made many friends with her co-workers beyond the work days. Angela was a devout Christian at Christ the King Catholic Church in Pleasant Hill.

Angela's hobbies included crocheting and gardening. She loved having friends and family especially to share her talent in the culinary arts. Angie liked her fancy cocktails too. She would shine at these gatherings as it was an occasion to remember. Lovely table settings, fantastic aromas filled the air along with the chatter of friends and family. We will always carry the love in our hearts with these memories. She will be missed more than words can say.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 3rd at 11:00am, Christ the King Catholic Church, parking lot off of Gregory Lane. Burial at Oakmont Memorial Park, 2099 Reliez Valley Rd, Lafayette.
