Angela Haggerty

Haggerty, Angela DELMAR Angela Prior Haggerty, 87, died on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at her home. Born May 31, 1926 in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Hon. Daniel H. and Catherine Winkler Prior. Beloved wife of the late Robert F. Haggerty. She is survived by her nine children, Robert F. Jr. and Gail Haggerty, Timothy P. and Kim Haggerty, Stephen J. and Eileen Haggerty, Joan A. Noonan, Patricia H. and Mark Varno, Christopher J. and Patti Haggerty, Elizabeth H. and Mike Sontz, James C. and Kristin Haggerty and Michael P. and Lori Haggerty. She is also survived by 35 grandchildren, Todd (Kristen), Kelly (Josh), Patrick (Nicole), Meghan (Kevin), Matthew, Katie (John), Tricia (Mike), Tim (Shannon), Erin (Andy), Kevin, Kara, Steve, Billy, Danny, Tommy, Katie, Thomas, Robert, Kathlyn, Tricia, Anna, Carli, Shane, Chris, Amy (Dustin), Meghan, Laura, Sean, Ryan, Jack, Charlie, Jamie, Quinn, Aaron and Zachary; and 17 great-grandchildren, William, Anna, Caroline, Molly, Madison, Sienna, Christopher, Matthew, Peter, Clare, Jack, Cooper, Elle, Timmer, Ronan, Anna and Quinn. She is the sister of Margaret Terry, Joseph Prior and the late Catherine Kenny, Helen Dollard, Hon. Daniel H. Prior Jr., Virginia Murray and Robert Prior. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Angela was a graduate of Vincentian High School and Elizabeth Seton College. She married Robert F. Haggerty in 1950. She was a devout Catholic and a communicant of Historic St. Mary's at Capitol Hill in Albany. Angela was active in the Masterson Day Nursery at Holy Cross Parish as a young mother. She was a former board member of Pius XII Youth and Family Services. Our family would like to thank the employees at Delmar Place for their tireless care, their compassion and love. Funeral services will be from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany, Monday, November 4, 2013 at 8:45 a.m., thence to the Historic Church of St. Mary's on Capitol Hill at 9:30 a.m., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. Please use the North Allen front entrance to enter funeral home.
