Camarillo - In the early hours of September 4, 2024, our loving and beautiful Mom passed to her eternal reward in heaven to be re-united with our dad. She passed away in the comfort of her home in Camarillo where she resided for the past 43 years.

Our Mom was born in Waukegan, Illinois on September 9, 1927. She spent the early years of her life in Torreon, Mexico, before returning to the United States to reside in Oxnard. She was a resident of the County of Ventura for 78 years.

Our Mom's life was dedicated to serving Our Lord Jesus Christ, as well as our Dad, all of her 9 children and families. Upon moving from Oxnard to Camarillo she and our dad became members of St. Mary Magdalen Parish. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalen's Altar and Rosary Society, Auxiliary Member of the Legion of Mary as well as the Sewing Circle and Free Meal Program.

She was one of the most gentle, loving and caring people you could ever meet. Always lending a helping hand, an attentive ear, giving advice only when asked and always a consoling and loving heart.

She was affectionately known as "Angie" to her many friends, "Grandma Angie" to her 29 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and as "Tia Angie" to her numerous nephews and nieces.

She is survived by her 9 children, Faustino "Tino" (Celia), John Jess "Chuy", Martha Aparicio(Eddie), Daniel "Danny"(Corinne), Manuel (Audrey), Raymond "Ray"(Linda), David (Sallie), Rene, and Gabriel (Esmeralda). Grandchildren Eileen(Roger), Monica(Chris), Debi(Trevor), Tina, Faustino Mark(Marie), Christina, Angela, Darlene, Michelle, John Jr. (Annie), Steven, Roxanne, Sabrina; Jimmy(Shawna), Michael(Linda), Anthony(Vanessa); Daniel "Guy"(Ana), Donald, Lisa (Lupe); Manuel II (Alexandra), Alejandro, Andrea (Freddy); Melissa, Priscilla, Ray Jr. (Olivia); David II (Sarah), Nicole (Paul); Lauren and Maximus "Max". She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Josie Pulido and Estela Maciel, as well as her aunt-in-law Virginia Salas. Our mom was preceded in death by our dad, Manuel E. Covarrubias, her parents Ladislado Maciel, Tomasa Salas Maciel, as well as her brothers and sisters, Antonio "Tony" Maciel, Jesus "Chuy" Maciel, Martha Rangel, Reyna Mora and Ladislado "Lali" Maciel. Also, grand and great grand babies, Henry, Hazel, Eliza Mercedes and Angelina.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 19 at St. Mary Magdalen Church 25 N. Las Posas Road Camarillo. Vigil will begin at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 20, also at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Camarillo. Interment will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery, Oxnard.
