Angelique Leydier Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 30, 2012.
In Loving Memory of

Angelique Regina Marie Leydier

After a courageous battle with MS, Angelique Leydier passed away at Pinecrest Home on Wednesday,
July 25, 2012 with her family by her side. She was 50 years old.

Angelique is survived by her mother Helene Leydier and her daughter Emmanuelle. Also left to mourn are her grandmother Helen Dubenski, her six siblings: Lynne, Laurence, Nicole, Rennae, Leslie and Hayley, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father Art Leydier, her grandparents Arthur Leydier Sr. and Paul Dubenski Sr.,
her uncles Peter and Paul Dubenski, and her grandmother Catharine Goodchild.

Angelique was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 7, 1962. She spent her school years to grade 12 in Winnipeg and went on to the University of Toronto where she received her Bachelor of Music. She then went on to receive her Masters Degree in Music at the University of Montreal. She was proficient in many languages.

Angelique sang with the Elmer Iseler Singers and went on tour with them around the world. She also performed in many solo concerts, private functions, and operas.

She loved her daughter Emma and cared for her until her disease made it impossible.

Angelique was a very kind and caring person and loved all of her family and friends - she especially enjoyed her trips to Kenora, Ontario.

A family Wake was held at her Aunt Nikki Dubenski's place on the Winnipeg River. Her sister Rennae came from Australia to spend her last few weeks with Angelique and was with her at the end. Her brother Laurence also made several trips back and forth from Winnipeg to spend time with her and he made several tapes for her of her favorite music.

Angelique will be interred with her father at the Lake of the Woods Cemetery.

Angelique will always be remembered as the exceptionally kind and talented person that she was. She was a beautiful lady, inside and out.

Dear Family Leydier and Emma, Angie's beloved daughter; I cannot express how sad I was to hear of Angelique's passing. My heartfelt sadness and deepest sympathy to you all. Angie was such a kind and wonderful friend and we shared so many wonderful times together growing up. Some of my fondest memories of my past were times we spent together laughing, crying and talking til the early morning hours. We grew up together and often talked about our dreams and aspirations for the future. She will always hold a special place in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time.
Sincerely Susan Dowhayko and Family( nee Kuzmenk)

Dear Helene,Emmanuelle, Lynne, Laurence, Nicole, Rennae, Leslie and Hayley,

My deepest sympathy in the loss of your daughter, mother and sister.
I remember Angelique as a very talented young girl growing while I lived in Kenora. My best friend, Nikki, her very proud aunt would take great pride in talking about your family. I once visited your home in Winnipeg where the family gave a recital and I was so impressed. I do hope and pray that the strength and love you receive from each other, family and friends helps to make the parting a little easier. I pray for many good memories for you.
In deepest sympathy, Judy Palipowski now living in Qualicum Beach,BC
