Anita Newberry

I am so sorry to see that Ms. Rupner passed away. There was a post on Fb, asking who our most favorite teacher was, so I put down, my 5th grade teacher Anita Rupner, at Charles Barnum. With that I decided to google her name, only to come across her obituary. Ms Rupner was so kind to me (age 8, 1974), having recently moved to New London, from Mystic (prior to that, Hawaii). I was growing up to be a military brat, & I was a little insecure about my new school & friends that year. I asked if I could write to her over the summer after 5th grade, of course she said yes, & we corresponded over the summer of 75. I remember her talking about staying with her parents, while enjoying their pool, that hot summer. Anyways- I´ve never forgotten her kindness, even now at age 58. Sincere condolences to her family. Certainly loved your mom and you. I have fond memories of CRS and your being there. Mom will be missed by all of us. God bless.
