Anita Spano Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 16, 2025.
With deep sadness but immense gratitude for her life, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Anita Gail Spano (Carter), who left this world on 7/10/2025 at the age of 65, after courageously battling cancer. Though her time with us feels far too short, the joy and laughter she brought into our lives will echo forever.

Anita was more than just a mother - she was a true friend, a vibrant spirit, and a beacon of love and laughter. She had an infectious sense of humor, a quick wit, and a knack for playful mischief. Whether she was pulling a lighthearted prank, telling a hilarious story, or dancing around the living room to her favorite tunes, she always found a way to make others smile.

She loved music, dancing, animals, and good company - and she especially cherished quiet moments on her patio in Wimberley, soaking in the beautiful scenery that surrounded her home. That peaceful place, where she laughed with family, watched the seasons change, and appreciated the simple beauty of life, brought her great comfort and joy.

To know Anita was to be welcomed with open arms, a big laugh, and maybe even a clever joke. Her friendships ran deep, and she was the kind of person who made everyone feel seen, valued, and loved.

She was predeceased by her mother Louanna, father Carl, brothers Jim, Mike, Ben, sister Roseann and nephew Carl. Anita is survived by her loving children April Alba, Anthony Alba, Taylor Reese Spano and Ashley Spano. Grandchildren Yasmine, Itzel, Isabelle, Illiana, Callie and Adler. Her husband Tony, as well as countless family and friends who felt her warmth and generosity. Her family was the center of her world, and her love will continue to guide them always.

A celebration of her life - fittingly filled with music, stories, and laughter - will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wimberley Adoption Group & Rescue (WAG Rescue), a cause she cared deeply about.

She may be gone from our sight, but she will never be gone from our hearts. Her laughter, love, and light will live on in all of us.
