CALKINS - Ann Christine
Of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020. Ann was a first generation American who was born in Nashua, NH, on July 7, 1922, the daughter of the late William and Christina (Fyffe) Gerity. She graduated from Rutherford High School in Rutherford, NJ and served in the US Navy during World War II as a Wave Yeoman where she met her husband Don Calkins and they married in 1946. After the war, she worked in New York City at Rand McNally, Arthur Murry Studio, in the U.S Army recruiting office in Newark, NJ and then became a librarian at the Sanborn/Pekin Free Library for 25 years. Ann was a member of First Baptist Church of Sanborn and Lockport. She was the wife of the late Donald F. Calkins, who passed away on December 10, 2020. Ann is survived by her four children: Donna Calkins of Hawaii, Paul (Eileen) Calkins of Sanborn, NY, Barbara Roberts of North Carolina and Mark (Barbara) Calkins of Stuyvesant Falls, NY, also four granddaughters, two great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter We would like to thank the staff at Our Lady of Peace for their kind and loving care.
