Born: Oct. 5, 1940; in Norris CityDied: Oct. 18, 2006; in ChicagoHer love for her family was first and foremost in her lifeCRYSTAL LAKE - Ann Dagley, 66, of Crystal Lake, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, from complications that arose during back surgery.She was born Oct. 5, 1940, to William and Evelyn Hoskins of Norris City, where she lived most of her life until she left for Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She married her best friend, Larry Dagley, on June 18, 1960, at Norris City Methodist Church.She was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake and her couples' circle there consisted of some of her best friends on earth. She enjoyed her book club and playing bridge with other wonderful friends.She loved her family, traveling, her photography, skiing (especially with her family), exercising, and many other activities. An accomplished photographer, she was well-respected for her work, which has been displayed in many places, including the Chicago Flower Show at Navy Pier and the Raue Center of Crystal Lake.She graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in general studies, reflecting her interest about everything.Survivors include her mother, Evelyn Hoskins of Crystal Lake; her husband of 46 years, Larry Dagley of Crystal Lake; her three children, Timothy Kent (Dr. Angela) Dagley of Houston, Kristen Elizabeth (Tony) Balow of Gilbert, Ariz., and Allison Ann (Brad) Peterson of Chicago; a sister, Elaine (Renee) Levy of Port Townsend, Wash.; and three grandchildren, Kyle William Kent Dagley, Taylor Elizabeth Balow and Carter Patrick Balow.She was preceded in death by her father, William F. Hoskins of Carmi.The visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake, 461 Pierson St., Crystal Lake. The Rev. Ray Banner and the Rev. Arn Schaper will officiate.The visitation in Carmi will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Campbell Funeral Home, 609 W. Main St. Carmi. The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Union Ridge Cemetery in Carmi.Memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer's Association, or the McHenry County College photography department.For information, call Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home at (815) 459-1760.Sign the guest book at www.
