Ann Fish Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Apr. 13 to Apr. 17, 2023.
Ann was called to her final rest on April 6th, following a short illness. Ann was born in Kenosha WI on February 1st, 1926 as Anneliese Ruebsamen, the daughter of German immigrants. Ann married the boy across the street, Bill Fish, after he came home from WWII, and they were happily married for over 50 years. They were blessed with three children: James, who died shortly after birth, Pam and Peggy. Ann was a full-time mother and homemaker. She had a lively sense of humor and more than one person would describe her as "feisty". In 2012 she moved to Charlottesville and was able to continue enjoying gardening, animals and ice cream. She will be greatly missed.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband Bill, sister Adeline Bender, brother Norman Ruebsamen and his daughter Renee Jecevicus.

Ann is survived by her daughters Pamela Covelli (Paul) of Kissimmee FL and Peggy Teixeira (John) of Virginia, as well as her niece Debra Feltenstein (Jerry) and nephew Norman Ruebsamen (Susan).

Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Our Lady of Peace and Heartland Hospice for their excellent care and compassion at the sunset of her life.

A memorial service will be held on April 22nd at 1:00pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church 2416 Jefferson Park Ave, Charlottesville, VA

While I've never met Peggy, I certainly feel as if I know her well from all the times Pam and I have spoken of her family. I had the great pleasure of meeting Ann several times when she was still able to travel. Each and every conversation was a joy. Pam and Peggy, please accept my heartfelt sympathy as you mourn your mom but celebrate her life. We'll all meet again! Much love!

It's Ann's SMILE that I remember! Always, she had a smile on, even when she mostly had to travel in a wheelchair. And from the twinkle in those eyes, you just knew SOMEthing was going on behind them!

Peace to Peggy & Pam and your families. Ann got her Easter early, this year.

Peggy and family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Fish. I always enjoyed her so much at both the Christopher Center and the Nursing Center at Our Lady of Peace. Peggy, you were such a loving and devoted daughter. Your mother was so lucky to have you. My sincerest condolences to you all.

Mom was an excellent person to go to for advice. She helped me as a child, and as an adult.
Love you Mom
