Ann Hall Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 12, 2025.
Ann Y. Hall (née Vittitoe), 84, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, in Oxford, Florida. Born on December 20, 1940, in Bardstown, Kentucky, Ann lived a full and vibrant life rooted in faith, family, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around her.

Ann was a devout Catholic whose spiritual devotion guided her throughout her life. She is survived by her beloved husband, Wray A. Hall; her daughter, Dianna M. McAuley and son-in-law Mark; and her cherished grandchildren, Zachary L. McAuley and Madeline A. McAuley. She also leaves behind her brother, Joseph D. Vittitoe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph M. Vittitoe and Ann L. Vittitoe; her first husband, Thomas H. Perkins; her daughter Michelle A. McAuley; and other loved ones who held special places in her heart.

Ann had a passion for travel that took her to many beautiful destinations over the years-especially those near the ocean. Her love of beachcombing earned her the affectionate nickname "the shell lady" among friends who admired both her keen eye for seashells and the joy she found in sharing them with others. Whether walking along the shore or strolling with friends closer to home, Ann found peace and connection in nature's simple pleasures.

Her warmth, enthusiasm and beautiful smile left lasting impressions on those fortunate enough to know her. She brought people together with kindness and grace, creating memories that will be treasured by all who shared in them.

Funeral plans are pending as there will be a memorial service in Florida and a funeral mass in Kentucky.

May Ann's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her, and may she rest peacefully surrounded by eternal light.

Ann and Wray were among some of the first people that we met when we moved to The Villages in 2008. We became part of a walking group called the WE Walkers. Over the years it became more of a social group with dinners and outings. Ann always had a big smile and showed concern for everyone. We have missed Ann and Wray from our group for the last couple of years. Our prayers go out to the family.

Ann was a wonderful neighbor. She always had a smile for everyone she encountered. She loved the cows on the farm (long since gone) that she could see out her villa´s kitchen window. She shared her shells with us among the plants in her yard. She will be missed by all that knew her.
