Ann Holovics Obituary

Ann Holovics, age 99, of McHenry, passed away peacefully Wednesday July 29, 2015, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born March 3, 1916, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to John and Anna (Kovach) Kovach. Her parents were immigrants originally from Hungary. Ann married the love of her life, John Holovics.

For over 30 years Ann was a talented florist in western New York.  Ann also was very proud to have owned and operated a craft store, with her daughter, "The Coal Yard". The store was affectionately named after the family run coal mining business which closed.   

Ann leaves behind three daughters; Janie (the late William) Stevens, Marlene (Frank) Lewandowski, Doris (Raymond) Brown, twelve grandchildren; Raymond (Sherry) Brown, Frank (Jill) Lewandowski, Karin (Mike) Delvalle, Michael (Nilu) Lewandowski, Mark (Katie) Lewandowski, Kathy (Norm) Sherer, John (Autumn) O’Mara, Mary (Joe) Baum, Ann (Scott) Prager, Michael (E.J.) O’Mara, William (Kristie) Stevens, Jennifer (Gill) Klinger; 29 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday August 4, 2015, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050. Visitation will resume 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 27551 Volo Village Road, Volo, IL 60073.

Interment will be in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL.
