Published by Legacy Remembers from Aug. 27 to Aug. 28, 2009.
A memorial service for Ann Stewart LaTourette, 56, Dallas, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, in the chapel at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Stuart Baskin officiating.

A private family graveside service will be at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Ann was born in St. Louis, Mo., July 1, 1953, the daughter of Harry Belmont LaTourette Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Boyd LaTourette. She died in Dallas Aug. 22, 2009.

Ann's family moved to Tyler when she was 2 years old. In Tyler, she attended the public schools and graduated from Robert E Lee in 1971. She also served as a lady-in-waiting during the 1972 Rose Festival.

She attended Randolph-Macon Women's College in Lynchburg, Va., for a year then transferred to Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and graduated in 1975.

After college, Ann worked in accounting at several firms in Dallas. The most recent, and very favorite, was CD Exploration. She loved the oil business and her associates at CDX. After CDX closed, she volunteered her time at the Humane Society in Dallas.

Ann was preceded in death by her beloved father, Harry LaTourette, and her grandparents and aunts.

She is survived by her mother, Mib LaTourette, and several cousins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sterling Abraham, Chris Abraham, Jimmy Bridges, Stuart Scarborough, Lee Scarborough and Brian Scarborough.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Humane Society of Smith County, P.O. Box 6151, Tyler, 75711; or to a charity of one's choice.
