Ann Lindberg Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 12, 2023.
Ann Carper Lindberg died peacefully in her Cape Cod, Massachusetts home on August 9, 2023 at the age of 98. She was a resident of Sanibel, Florida.

Ann is survived by her daughters, Kris Lindberg Myers and Lisa Lindberg; her grandchildren, Katie Myers Severson (husband, Taylor) and Jonathan Myers; and her granddogs, Otis, Daisy, and Archie. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lennart Lindberg, mother, Beatrice Smyth Carper, father, Gerald Irving Caper, and sisters, Joan Carper Fraser and Dee Carper Roberts.

Ann was born on April 12, 1925 in Newton, Massachusetts to Beatrice and Gerald Carper. She and her younger sisters were raised by their widowed mother in Waban. Ann remembered that her favorite book was Winnie the Pooh and that she took great pride in her education. She graduated from Smith College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. She married Lennart Lindberg in 1952. After moving to Worcester, Massachusetts, the couple welcomed two children into their home. Ann had a passion for travel, bridge, and reading. Ann worked as a social worker for a couple of years but retired to spend more time with her children, Kris and Lisa. She shared that being a mother and raising children was her favorite job of all. In her free time, Ann volunteered as a docent at the Worcester Art Museum. After retiring to Cape Cod in the late 1990s, Ann and Lennart spent winters in Sanibel, Florida beginning in the early 2000s.

A private service will be held with the family to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Bourne Conservation Trust, P.O. Box 203, Cataumet, MA 02543 or CROW (Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife) in Sanibel, Florida (https://crowclinic.org/). The family would like to thank Sherrill Flynn and Diane Griffith for taking such good care of Ann at the end of her life.

"If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart. I'll stay there forever." - A.A. Milne, Winne the Pooh.
