It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Ann Marie Martin of Scranton. Ann Marie passed away peacefully in the presence of loved ones on Saturday evening, April 17, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Martin, of Taylor; and her parents, the late George and Ida Pettinato, of Scranton. Ann Marie was also preceded in death by her aunt, Angeline Desanto; a sister-in-law, Sandra Pettinato; and a niece, whom she loved as a daughter, Nicole Pettinato.
She is survived by her brother, George Pettinato Jr.; a sister-in-law, Lisa Lutecki; a brother-in-law, Joseph Lutecki; and a son and daughter-in-law, Aaron Martin and Dana Bilski, whose upcoming marriage Ann Marie was greatly looking forward to. She is also survived by countless friends and loved ones who will miss her dearly.
Ann Marie was a graduate of Marywood University's art program and she loved to create. She was a skilled artist whose hobbies brought her much joy. She will be remembered by all who had the honor of knowing her as a devoted wife and mother, a loving sister and a loyal friend. She will be dearly missed.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Ann Marie at St. Ann's Basilica, Scranton. She will be laid to rest by her beloved husband in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Old Forge.
