Ann Mulrooney Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 15, 2024.
Ann "Annie" Mulrooney (née Henrick) passed away on July 11, 2024, at the age of 82, at her daughter's home in Rutland, MA. She was born on May 23, 1942, in Lawrence, MA. Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her Faith was a guiding light throughout her life and she believed in being an example of God's love in the world.

Ann graduated from Andover High School and Merrimack College. She also earned two Masters degrees from Lesley and Cambridge Colleges. Her heart belonged in Human Services, where she counseled and mentored drug-addicted teens for several years. Ann later worked at Verizon as a Training and Development Manager for over 20 years.

She is the mother of Martha McCarthy
(Michael) of Jefferson, Jonathan of Medfield, and Tara-Ellen Gill (Mitchell) of Rutland, MA. Grandmother to Emily (Bobby), Aidan, Zachary (Lauren), Reilly (Ryan), Olivia, Grace and Anna. Great grandmother to Watson and Amaya. Sister to Janemarie Henrick of Lowell MA and Francis Henrick of Sarasota FL. Ann was predeceased by her parents, Francis and Grace Henrick, and her brother George Henrick.

In her free time, Ann loved to knit, crochet, cross-stitch, and sew. Her talent and love were evident in the sweaters, blankets, and prayer shawls she created, which have been shared around the world as symbols of her care for others. Ann was an Adult Advisor in the teen youth group at St Basils and a member of the Cursillo Community. She was a leader in the RCIA program, supporting others in their journey to becoming Catholic. She worshipped at St. Basil's in Methuen, MA, which she considered her spiritual home.

Ann will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She taught us all how to be the Face of God in this difficult world. Her family is content in knowing she is now seeing Him face to face.

The family would like to thank Care Central VNA & Hospice for the exceptional care provided to Ann. They especially recognize hospice nurse, Kelsey and CNA, Sue. Your compassion, kindness and care were so important in her journey Home.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Basil's in Methuen, MA on Friday July 26, 2024. Calling hour at 11 am, followed by a funeral Mass at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Basil's Seminary, 30 East Street, Methuen, MA 01844.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Comfort Cremation in Worcester, MA.

Anne, you are a beautiful soul, always have been. Days after you passed away I received a package your sister sent at your request. (Thank you, Janemarie.) Bless you Anne, for that because it showed me that you cared and still loved me. That is such an amazing reminder of who you are. Thank you, my wonderful friend. May your beautiful soul continue to spread the love and joy in peace as it did on earth.

Annie was a deep, compassionate servant of Jesus in this world. Poetic. A great listener and so generous with her time and talents. She will be dearly remembered. Finally pain free! Praise God!

Auntie Ann you were always there to greet me with a smile, always willing to listen, always willing to offer advice when asked. You were and always will be remembered as a kind soul. You have gone home to be with God but will always have a home in our hearts. You may be gone but will never be forgotten. Thank you for being the best Godmother a girl could ask for. I love you!

Ann was like a second mother to me. She welcomed me into her loving family and loved me like a son. She was a kind, caring and generously loving grandmother to my three children. Most of all, she was my friend and someone who helped me to become the man that I am today. I will forever hold her love, wisdom, and faith in my heart.
