Ann Shoemaker

Ann Shoemaker, formerly of Birchrunville Ann Shoemaker, 82, of Indian Springs, Ala. passed away on July 16, 2013, after a long, courageous struggle with heart disease. A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17th, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 7 St. Andrews Lane, Glenmoore, PA 19343. Ann was born in Rye, N.Y. on Sept. 4, 1930. She graduated from Elmira College with a BS in biology and worked as a cancer researcher at Lederle Labs and then as a science teacher for 25 years at Owen J. Roberts Middle and High Schools. She enjoyed gardening and loved golden retrievers. Ann is survived by her sister, Ruth; her children, Jane, Stowe Jr. and Donald; her grandchildren, Christopher, Alasdair, Alexandra and Caroline; her husband, Stowe; and other family and friends.
