Anna M. Babinski

WORCESTER-Anna M. (Weber) Babinski, 88, of Worcester passed away Tuesday, June 15 at Saint Vincent Hospital. She leaves her husband of 63 years, Chester J. Babinski; three children, Robert Babinski of Worcester, Edward Babinski and his wife, Marilyn of Middletown, RI and Joan Babinski of Denver, CO; a brother, Joseph Weber and his wife, Joyce of West Palm Beach, FL. A sister, Helen Ferguson, predeceased her. She was born in Quincy, daughter of Sebastian and Victoria (Schipfel) Weber. Anna graduated from Commerce High School and attended Worcester State College. She worked as a service representative for AT&T before raising her children; prior to that she worked as a receptionist in a dental practice. At AT&T, the workshops she led, called "Your Voice is You," exemplified the grace, kindness and helpfulness that she exuded in all her interactions throughout her professional and personal life. Anna seldom sat still, always doting on her family and loved ones around her. She loved gardening and tending to her flowers, and was an avid seamstress, often sewing her own clothes and doing tailoring for others. She enjoyed golfing with her husband and traveling to Europe and throughout the US in their retirement. Anna was an avid baker, and enjoyed embracing a variety of cultures in her baking, as well as perfecting her classic apple pie. She frequented the Worcester Senior Center almost daily and relished their fitness classes and many programs. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, June 21 at 10am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales Street. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Worcester Senior Center, 128 Providence Street, Worcester, 01604.
