Anna Maxine Booth, 89, of Huntington, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Larry H. Booth in April 2004. She was the eldest daughter of the late Teddy Eldridge and Mary Elizabeth Barbour Dunkle. Her brother, Verlin E. Dunkle, preceded her in death. Surviving sisters are Thelma Rupe and Audrey Clark. Her children are Theodore and Irmgard Booth of Lewisburg, WV, Elizabeth (Betsy) and John Weiler of Huntington, WV; grandsons, Christopher D. and Laurie Booth of Alexandria, VA, Alexander M. Booth of Rome, Italy, and Eric A. Weiler of Port Orange, FL; nephews, Ray H. Morrison of Omaha, NB, Timothy and Thomas Dunkle, Larry Kendall all of Huntington; niece, Donna Kent of Cheshire, OH. After graduating from Huntington High School in 1935, she graduated from Wiseman’s Business School and worked for Koppers Stores prior to her marriage on November 21, 1940 at which time she and her husband moved to Richmond, VA. They returned to Huntington in 1958. She was a member of Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church, E.T. Jones Bible Class, Johnson Memorial United Methodist Women and the Martha Circle, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Huntington City Mission, a 50 Year Member of Huntington Woman’s Club, former President of both the Huntington Cabell Republican Women and the WV Federation of Republican Women, former member of the WV Republican Executive Committee, and the Cabell County Republican Executive Committee. She was proud to have attended seven Republican National Conventions. She was instrumental in establishing the Little League and Babe Ruth Programs in Barboursville, WV, in which her son participated. In 1970, she served as the District Manager of the US Census Bureau. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 22, with services following at 3:00 PM at Beard Mortuary with Dr. Joseph Shreve officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. The family requests contributions be made to Huntington City Mission. Online condolences may be sent to www.beardfuneralhome.com.

Our family will always remember with great appreciation and great amusement Maxine's kindess to my brother, John Inghram. She could always bring a smile to his face. She would "slip" him money at Young at Heart for hot dogs which was his passion after his many strokes. Her kindess and caring will always be remembered.
