Anna Cupec Obituary

Anna N. Cupec, 78, of Elizabeth, formerly of Bentleyville, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002, in Mon Valley Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born Aug. 1, 1923, in Bentleyville, a daughter of the late Alcide and Josephine Motetti Pistilli. Mrs. Cupec was a homemaker, a member of the Bentleyville Senior Citizen Center, and the Ave Maria Roman Catholic Church in Bentleyville. She is survived by two sons, Edward Cupec of Erie and Anthony Cupec of Elizabeth; two daughters, Donna Phillips of Sterling Park, Va., and Cathie Hecht of Upper St. Clair; two brothers, Alfred Pistilli of Ridgway, and Vincent Pistilli of Bentleyville; two sisters, Mary DiMarzio and Josephine Forte, both of Ellsworth; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cupec was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Cupec, who died July 26, 1979; one daughter, Patricia Carter; and two brothers, Mario and Armand Pistilli. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 619 Main St., Bentleyville, where prayer services will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Ave Maria R.C. Church, Bentleyville, with the Very Rev. Pierre Falkenhan as celebrant. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township.
