Anna Mae Guile, a former school teacher and genealogist, passed away quietly on Sunday evening, November 17, 2024 in Eugene, Oregon. She was 92 years old.

Anna Mae was born in Hume, Missouri on January 6, 1932 to Marion and Mattie Standeford. She moved to Veneta, Oregon with her family in the late 1930's where her father, Marion, worked at several mills in the surrounding towns. On February 6, 1953, Anna Mae married Charles "Bill" W. Guile and settled in Elmira, Oregon, where they raised two sons and a daughter. Anna Mae went on to earn her Bachelors in Teaching from University of Oregon in the mid 1970's. Anna Mae enjoyed reading, knitting, teaching, genealogy, traveling, and most of all being with her family and friends.

Anna Mae was a devout and respected member of the Fern Ridge Christian Church, formerly the Elmira Church of Christ, for over 60 years. She taught grade school for several years at the church, was active in the women's groups and served as the church's librarian. She was an avid genealogist and an active member of the Oregon Genealogical Society in Eugene, Oregon. She was also a major activist for the Applegate Pioneer Museum in Veneta, Oregon.

She is survived by her three children, Charles Daniel Guile, Sandra Kay Markham, and Bradley Dean Guile, and her brother, Wayne Standeford, sister, Norma Stevens, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services was held at Fern Ridge Christian Church in Elmira, Oregon on December 3rd at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, please provide donations to Applegate Pioneer Museum, Oregon Genealogical Society, or the PLSO Bill Guile Scholarship fund.
