Mrs. Anna D Melone Pollock, of Weston, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after living with cancer for several years. She was 82 years old. Anna was born on April 15, 1938, the daughter of Italian immigrants, Joseph and Maria Anna (Costantini) Melone. She was raised in Weston, and graduated from Weston High School, Class of 1956. In her younger years, she was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed many activities, from hiking, skiing, swimming, boating and tennis to skating and Nordic skiing in her Weston backyard. She was also active in the Girl Scouts where she earned the gold award and later became a scout leader for many years. She would further her education by earning her Diploma in Nursing from Saint Elizabeth's Nursing School, her Bachelor's degree and Master of Science in Nursing from Boston College, her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree from Northeastern, and her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Worcester Hahnemann School of Nursing. She was also active in the Boston College and Saint Elizabeth's School of Nursing Alumni Associations and taught nursing at Lasell Junior College. She was a devout Catholic and was a lifelong parishioner of Saint Julia Parish where she received all her sacraments. She cherished her church community and was involved in their Sodality, Eucharistic Ministry, CCD program, choir, daily rosary, World Day of Prayer, and Devine Mercy Sunday. She survived significant illnesses throughout her life, experiencing several miraculous recoveries. Friends and family will remember her familiar phrase, "God is good." In her spare time, she loved music and singing, travelling both locally and globally, and spending time with her friends and family. She also enjoyed spending time with her community of neighbors and friends at her summer home in Onset, Massachusetts. She will be remembered for her love of family, her strong faith, sense of adventure, caring heart and enthusiasm to live life to it's fullest. Most of all, Nonna adored spending time with her grandchildren, Sasha and Daria. She is survived by her loving daughters Cara Lamakina (Kiryl Lamakin) of Framingham, and Tia Pollock of Waltham; her granddaughters, Sasha and Daria Lamakina; her siblings, John Melone (Marcia) of Stow, Daniel Melone (Joanna) of North Andover, Cecelia DeSimone (late Carl) of Saunderstown, Rhode Island, the late Anthony Melone (late Jean), the late William Melone (late Marie), the late Vincent Melone (Janice of San Angelo, Texas), and the late Josephine Melone. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. Anna's funeral mass at Saint Julia's Church and burial in Linwood Cemetery, Weston will be private. Those that would like to view Anna's funeral mass on Monday, December 28th at 10am may do so via this link: https://my.gather.app/remember/anna-melone-pollock In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Assisi, 1030 Northampton Street, Holyoke, Massachusetts, 01040. Anna spent much of her life thinking and praying for those she loved. When you think of Anna, dedicate a decade of the rosary to her and complete a random act of kindness in her honor. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tuesday, December 22, 2020 – a note from the funeral home pursuant to Governor Baker's recent order: During times of uncertainty and crisis one might wonder what to do at the loss of a loved one or how to show support to a friend given the limitations that the pandemic continues to present. Telephone your friend to offer words of love, support and a verbal hug, drop something delicious by the house, leave a condolence on the funeral home website, make a donation to their favored charity, send a card or flowers or have a Mass said, remain in touch, and above all else . . . say prayers for the deceased and their family and the world during this difficult and unprecedented time. These simple gifts of sympathy and charity are more valuable than you will ever know. When public wakes are held capacity limits mean that your visit to the funeral home should be brief to allow other guests time to say hello to the family. Only members of the immediate family remain present throughout. It goes without saying that people who have lost someone are especially sensitive and understanding to the concerns that some of their own family members and friends may have about visiting any public places right now. If this does not feel like the right time for you to venture out please don't. Space limitations also mean that funeral services inside the funeral home and in many places of worship will also be private. Most services, at the family's request, will also be livestreamed and recorded for future viewing. The link to access the channel is found at the bottom of the obituary notice online. Cemetery services are included in the current outdoor gathering limit of twenty-five people. During any events, public or private, common sense precautions prevail. That includes masks covering your nose and mouth, staying with your household group throughout the services and keeping a sensible distance. Thank you . . . again . . . for your patience and understanding.

Tia,

I am so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. Anna was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was a woman of strong faith and had a big heart. My dad always spoke highly of her and enjoyed singing in St. Julia choir with her. He also mentioned to us that they walked together in procession during the Weston High School graduation.

She was very kind and thoughtful to me and my family especially after losing my dad then mom. I always appreciated her kindness during those times and the beautiful prayer sympathy cards she would send us.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.

Blessings,

Kim (Healey) Flynn

Dear Cara and Tia,
I was so sorry to hear about your mother. We were life-long friends. She was such a special person, and had such a strong faith. We didn't make it to Kimball's this past summer, but had numerous visits there over the last few years so that she could get her pistachio ice cream cone! Cherish your memories, for through them, she'll always be with you. God Bless, and Peace!

Anna was a special person and had a big impact on my life. She was a great example to me of how to live in the present moment, embrace life's joys and difficulties and live life to the fullest. I have fond memories of all of adventures through the years--including holiday celebrations at her house in Weston and fun-filled weekends at Skidmore for soccer games or parents weekend. Always kind and generous, Anna embraced me as one of her own and I will really miss her.

Anna was my kindest, warmest, and most spiritual friend for 45 years. She was always there in any way she could for friends who called on her for help. No matter how busy she was, she lived in the moment, always praising the beauty and expressing the joy she found in God's creation around her. She'll always be remembered and is an inspiration to do our best for others. God bless you Tia, Cara, Kiryl, Sasha & Daria, also her sister Celia and Mirella & Marsha, her cousins. She loved you all so much.

Anna was such a kind, sweet person and our association at the cape will miss her dearly. I have fond memories of her walking to the beach for her daily swim and sitting on the beach talking about her grand daughters. May she rest in peace and know how much she was loved by all who knew her.
