Anna Reineman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jun. 8 to Jun. 11, 2007.
Anna Louise (Williams) Reineman
April 21, 1929 – May 29, 2007

Anna's spirit went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, May 29th. She was 78. Anna was a unique and unconventional lady. She learned to fly at age 16 before she learned to drive and would often pick her brothers up from college in her plane. She had wanted to enter nursing school and almost made it by hiding her congenital deafness in one ear – but instead became a teacher of education earning a master's degree from Indiana University. She taught PE, Health and Driver's Ed for a number of years before meeting Ralph Reineman in a ski club. They were married on March 26, 1960 and spent their first and second wedding anniversaries in the hospital giving birth to their first two children – June Ann and Diane Louise – both born on March 25th one year apart. Their last child, William Ralph, was born in 1964. They first settled in Griffith, Indiana and later moved to Bolingbrook, Illinois. Anna and Ralph were founding members of the Friendship United Methodist Church in Bolingbrook. Following Ralph's death, Anna moved to Bellevue, Washington to be near her two daughters and four grand children. She was a very active participant in their lives – enjoying many grand children sporting and musical events.

Anna always took care of someone in her life – her children, elderly neighbors, church members, her extended family. For years she drove for FISH (a charitable transportation service) in Bolingbrook, waiting patiently for her clients to complete their doctor's visits or shopping. She was a leader in Cub Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts and was very active in church. While never one to embrace modern technologies (she refused an automatic dishwasher for a number of years!), she loved bridge and did learn to play bridge on a computer later in life.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband (Ralph) in 1994 and her brother Joseph Williams in 2006. Member's of her family who will miss her dearly include her brother Fred Williams of Pembrook Pines, FL, daughter June Reineman Coover and husband Merv of Bellevue, WA, daughter Diane Louise Reineman and husband Dan of Tacoma, WA, son William Ralph Reineman of Bolingbrook, IL and her four grand children – Andrew, Aris, Margaret and Aaron. A memorial service honoring her life will be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church (Bellevue, Washington) on June 13th at 6 pm. She will be interred at the Naperville, Illinois cemetery at a later date.
