Anna Doreen Stahl

Anna Doreen Stahl, 80, of Barboursville, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011, with her daughters by her side. She peacefully went home to be with the Lord.

She was a beloved Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma and friend to all. She had a generous heart and was a member of the American Legion, the Literacy Council, and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She liked to volunteer her time at the Legion, Literacy Council as well as at the church. She spent her spare time knitting toasty toes and sewing cool ties for the troops overseas. She had knitted over four hundred pair of the booties as of last count. She was a lifelong Washington Redskins fan and New York Yankees fan. She loved cooking, reading, sewing, and enjoyed spending with her family and friends. She is survived by her two daughters, Janice Kerns and her husband, Owen Kerns, of Barboursville, and Rachel Lantz and her husband, Chris Lantz, of Harrisonburg; as well as six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She loved being with her family and friends. A memorial service and celebration of her life was held 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Rapidan Baptist Church in Madison, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to your choice of any local animal shelter or church. Momma, rest peacefully knowing you were loved by many.
