This is the first time in years that Mom will be spending Darlene's birthday with her. Mom wish Darlene a Happy Birthday from all of us on the 18th of this month which is Saturday. You won't be able to see Tina turn her big 50 on Sunday the 19th or Donnie the big 60 on Thursday the 23rd but I know that you will be watching over them just the same. We all love and miss you very much. Your loving family: Nancy & Gary and family; Rayetta & Jack and family; Donnie & Chris & family; Faye & Wayne and family; Tina and family; and Darlene's family.

Remembering my amazing mother is a blessing that I will always enjoy. She lived her life as a shining example for me that even when life can be difficult, if the one that I turn to is Jesus, then I could trust that the outcome would be ok.
When I was a little girl I sat with mom while kneeling by her bed and I remember her praying for her family. I recall the desire she had that her children would learn the peace that she had in her spirit. I watched as she told her children and grandchildren good bye and I wondered how she was able to make all of us feel so special. It occurred to me after a couple of weeks that it wasn't hard for her because her feelings were genuine and her love was a gift simply shared with others.
I came home from shopping the other day and thought, "Oh I should call mom." Then I remembered that she was gone. I will miss her with all of my heart.

Father God,
How do I gather the words to honor my mother? I sat by her bedside during her crisis of death. I read from Ecclesiastes 3 to her and cried as the words choked within me… “A time to mourn, a time to dance”… I knew then she would be a celebrating with You while we mourned our loss. I am leaning closer to You in my hour of grief and go on…not ever to be the same again. Lives have changed and will continue to change and when I come full circle in my own mortality I pray that I am as close to You as my mother was and is now. Until then, Lord, strengthen me and guide me to live for you and to encourage others to “Live for Jesus so you can be with me in heaven”. Amen

Father God, I thank You that I had the great privilege of being birthed and loved by a woman who loved, feared and respected You. She was a great example of what a christian woman should be. "And who can find a virtuous woman for her price is far above rubies (Prov. 31:10) and a pearl of great price (Matt. 14:36)".
For someone who had nothing of earthly value, she was one of the riches people I know for all the love and respect she received from her family. You already know how my heart aches for mom's prescence. I'm glad you gave her the ability to write and sing her song for her children (It Was Jesus That Met All Their Needs). And thank You for Jake who was able to pick out the melody on his guitar from her taped song and play it for the CD he made for her. SHE KNEW WHEN SHE WAS GONE IT WOULD BE A COMFORT FOR US. Now mama is singing a new song for You and I am happy for her, but sad for her absence in my life. Thank you for giving me Your Holy Spirit to comfort me. With Love,

I cannot wait until I am old so I can tell my grandkids to get out of my hats and jewelry and share pickles and cheetos and teach them how to play rummy and UNO and of course always beat them because you NEVER let us win :) It was always a challenge and you were always there to pet my hair, call me baby, and tell me that everything would be ok. You never had to say so because I knew I was your favorite haha :) You were always my favorite and I know you knew that. I think about you every day and miss you every day and can't wait to see you again. I love you

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to Love them, but then an ENTIRE life to forget them. Do not value the things you have in your life, But value WHO you have in your life!
Grandma was one of my life's most precious gifts. Grandma glowed with the light of her faith in God, that shown through as she walked out on a daily basis. Through the families storms she was our lighthouse and by her faith and prayer helped bring us all safely through. Teaching us to anchor down and not fight the storm, but go with the wind and the waves of life and focus upon the Lord and he will guide us through. Thank you for being there and helping us all see and break through our storms of Life.
I LOVE YOU
