Annabelle Dierling Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Apr. 22 to Apr. 24, 2009.
DIERLING – Annabelle, 82, Richland Township, went home to Jesus on April 22, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born April 10, 1927, to Kenneth and Isabelle (Myers) Hettle. Preceded in death by loving husband, Joseph "Bill," on Feb. 16, 2000; and daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Tiffany, on July 26, 2008. Survived by children: Richard, and wife, Lu Anne (Cornacchia), Richland; Catherine, wife of the Rev. Denton Lester, Rockwood; and William, and wife, Theresa (Williams), Bedford; and son-in-law, Ronald Tiffany, Richland. Loving grandmother to Candee, Jay, Amy, Jennifer, Lynne, Kelly, Jill, Jeffrey, Alex, Denton Jr., James and Holly. She was fondly known as "Grammie Gummie" to her great-grandchildren: Luke, Hannah, Aiden, Michael, Daniel, Ian, Annelise, Julia, Jazmine, Ashley, Gavin, Avery and Julia Rae, because of her never-ending supply of gumdrops. Also survived by friend and neighbor, Charlottte Cowder, and aunts, Catherine "Honey" Hettle and Helen Hettle. Annabelle was a devout Catholic and longtime member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. She was a great cook and loved to read and garden. Her biggest joy was having her family visit. She was an LPN and worked at the former Pelkey's Rest Home on Frankstown Road and the Ebensburg State School. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Henderson Funeral Home, East Hills, 2503 Bedford St., where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Benedict Church. Committal, St. Joseph Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Peggy Tiffany Memorial Foundation, c/o James Tiffany, First Summit Bank, Donald Lane, Johnstown, Pa. 15904, or St. Benedict Catholic Church.

Dear Dierling Family:

Please know you are in our prayers now. It is so sad when our parents leave us. Mine are both gone and it is a lonely sad feeling. You were good neighbors and kind friends. I hope you all do well and stick together through this. God Bless you all and know that someone does think of you and pray for you daily.
