Annbeth Wilkinson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Aug. 25 to Aug. 27, 2023.
Easley - Annbeth Wilkinson, age 89, of Easley, SC died peacefully in her sleep on August 23, 2023 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the beloved wife of Robert for 64 years and the devoted mother of Mark, Scott (Eileen) and Lynn (Victor) Smiroldo.

Survivors to cherish her memory are grandchildren Stephanie (Chris) Aylward, Mark Wilkinson, Jr., (Alyssa), Chelsea (Aaron) Wilkowitz, Tara Wilkinson, sister-in-law Elaine Cook and great grandchildren Charlotte and Audrey Aylward and Silas Wilkowitz.

She was predeceased by her husband Robert, brothers Carl and James Sommers, sister Luella Mae Rosebrook and grandson Bradley Wilkinson.

Annbeth was born on February 9, 1934 in Ottawa, OH to the late Edwin and Luella Sommers. She graduated from Ottawa HS and Otterbein University where she met Robert. She graduated with a degree in early childhood education and went on to establish and direct the First Presbyterian Nursery School in Matawan, NJ in 1966 which stills thrives today.

She relocated many times over the years including homes in NC, WV, FL, MD, NJ, GA, and SC. In her travels she made close and lasting friendships through her kindness, compassion, creativity, empathy, generosity, and patience. She was a talented singer in many church choirs and devoted her time and resources to multiple charities and the Stevens Ministry.

She will be remembered most for her love of family and friends and her welcoming respect and acceptance for all those she met.

A celebration of Annbeth's life and graveside service will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations to the Fort Hill Presbyterian Church in Clemson, SC (Forthillchurch.org) or Thornwell, a charity serving society's most vulnerable - its families and children in need (www.Thornwell.org) in Clinton, SC.

On behalf of my beloved wife Nancy and I she would tell of many fond memories of Beth many of which I share fondly . Every time I see the great 50 horse outboard engine they sold us for the token amount of 50$ I think fondly of both Beth and Robert. Much Love to all of you who grieve. Bill Elsea

This is a very touching tribute. She will be missed by many: family, friends, her Church fellowship, and those whose lives she impacted. She made the world a better place.
