Anne Catherine Keehan

Anne Catherine Keehan, a 22-year resident of The Woodlands passed away peacefully on August 16, 2022.

Anne was born on July 4, 1943 in Victoria, Texas but was raised in the coastal town of Port Lavaca, Texas. Anne's father, John S. Powers was a pilot in the Army Air Force during World War II and served in the Asia Pacific area. He died in action on January 4, 1944 when Anne was 6 months old.

Anne was raised by her mother, Mary Louise Powers, with the help of her grandmother and nearby aunts and uncles. Anne attended Our Lady of the Lake College in San Antonio, Texas and it was there that she met her husband to be, Jerry Keehan. On August 29, 1964, Anne and Jerry were married at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Port Lavaca. Upon graduation from college, Anne and Jerry relocated to Dearborn, Michigan where Jerry began his career with Ford Motor Company.

Anne and Jerry relocated numerous times over the next 16 years of Jerry's career with Ford. In 1981 they relocated to Corpus Christi, Texas where Jerry undertook the operation of his family's petroleum mineral leasing business.

It was in Corpus Christi where Anne began her career in teaching at Incarnate Word Academy, focusing on the subjects of math and religion. She loved the interaction with her students, serving as faculty senior class sponsor, liaison with the Optimist Club and in many other capacities. In 1996, Anne resigned from teaching to attend to her mother's needs who was suffering from Alzheimer's Disease.

In 2002 Anne and Jerry relocated to The Woodlands to be closer to their children and grandchildren. In keeping with her true spirit, Anne immediately became involved with various volunteer ministries at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She served as a Eucharistic Minister, participated in the Divine Mercy Cenacle, 40 Days for Life and in other ministries.

Anne is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Jerry Keehan, her three sons Robert (Cindy) Keehan of Houston, Texas, John Keehan of Incline Village, Nevada, Patrick (Virginia) Keehan of Ft. Worth, Texas, her seven grandchildren Megan Keehan and Laura Keehan both of Mountain View, California, Robert R. Keehan, III of Austin, Texas, Colin Keehan, Caitlyn Keehan, Camille Keehan and Ford Keehan of Ft. Worth, Texas and Cathy Keehan of Conroe, Texas.

A visitation for Anne will be held Monday, August 22, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Forest Park - The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384, with a rosary to start at 7PM.

Funeral Mass will occur Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 7801 Bay Branch Dr, The Woodlands, TX 77382, followed by a committal service at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384.
