I remember playing at George’s house in my elementary school years, and his mother always being so kind.

Mrs. Kappel was my teacher, counselor, Sunday School Teacher, and a dear friend to my family. I can still hear her laughter at Bridge Nights, when the gang played almost anything but bridge. Rest well, although if the Bridge Club still meets, I imagine heaven gets mighty rowdy. I love you Mrs K.

One of the kindest individuals I have met. Mother to my friend George, looking back, I felt she was a great "kids Mom" , allowing kids to be kids but intervening when guidance needed...was no surprise when she moved in that direction professionally...nice lady.

Mrs. Stewart, as we knew her in Ashbourne Hills, specifically on Avon Drive and Keats, was always an integral part of the community. Whether we were playing hide and seek on our block or riding bikes past her house, there was always a wave and a greeting from her. My deepest condolences to Georgie and Carl, and their extended family. Lindy (Jones) Griffith

Anne Kappel was an extraordinary guidance counselor. I was only in her sphere of guidance for such a short time, yet the lasting memory of her care, diligence, and mentoring remains with me 45 years later.
Thank you Mrs. Kappel.
Rest in Peace and may God grant your loved ones comfort today.

Any one remember the first sign of Spring, it was trendy to use squirt guns in the Hall way toward each other? Well, when I was in 7th grade changing classes in old main near Mrs. Stewart's room, I pulled the trigger in the crowd, when an angry Mrs. Stewart came through the crowd of students, grabbed my arm, with water dripping down her face! I was teriffied and she was kind, nice, diplomatic lady during all the detention time I served with her after school! RIP, dear lady

I first metAnn as a student at Claymont High School. She was my guidance councilor. Many years later I met her again when she was volunteering at Lutheran Towers when I was a cook there. She had not changed one bit. I recognized her the moment she walked in. She was always a kind and gentle person with a heart of gold. She will be missed by many.

So sorry to see this sad news. She was my Sunday school teacher at Atonement at one point. I always enjoyed catching up with her when we’d see each other on walks in Windy Bush. Thoughts and prayers fir her family.

To the friends and family of Ms Kappel, my sincere condolences. I graduated from CHS in 1976 and I can still vividly recall her kindness. Godspeed Anne.
