ANNE R. MARTEGANI, 106 ROCKFORD - Anne R. Martegani, 106, passed away peacefully in her home on January 9, 2014. She was born in 1907, the daughter of Mark and Maria (Rossi) Martegani. Anne was a lifelong member of St. James Catholic Church and member of Catholic Women's League. She attended St. James and later at St. Thomas High School. She was a 25+ year member of River Bluff Auxiliary, and member of Lombardi and Verdi Clubs. Anne was former legal secretary and court reporter for Judge Fred J. Kullberg. She also worked for former Winnebago Co. Coroner, Collins Sundberg and Sundberg Funeral Home. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and is predeceased by 12 siblings. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, in St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. Second St., Rockford, with Fr. Dean Russell and Fr. David Beauvais concelebrating. Visitation on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Memorials to the church or Poor Clares Monastery. Arrangements by Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford, IL. Anne was a wonderful volunteer with the River Bluff Auxiliary for many years. She would visit the newly admitted residents on Fridays. Cherish the many happy memories of her life.
