Anne Lorraine Morrissey

Anne L. Morrissey, "Annie", 82 years of age from Malden, MA

Passed away bravely and peacefully at her home in West Newbury, MA. The world became a brighter place after Anne was born to John and Marjorie Crosdale on February 8, 1942, in Melrose, MA. Anne attended public schools and graduated class of 1959 with a commercial course in The Malden High School. She entered the workforce as an Avis Car rental agent at Logan Airport. Soon she met her husband, Joseph Morrissey, they wed and moved to Billerica MA to raise their three children, then later to North Andover. After Anne and Joseph separated ways, Anne put herself through Cambridge College to earn her master's in education and counseling; graduating from an accelerated Master's Degree program. She worked in the EAP field for many years and later opened her own private practice as a Psychotherapist. One of her passions was to help people struggling and continued her education to specialize in addictions. Anne helped many individuals who struggled with Alcohol, Drugs and Gambling addictions. Anne grew her private practice opening offices in Andover, Cambridge, and North Andover. When she wasn't working, she could be found reading, walking, and swimming at Cape Cod beaches. She had a love for chocolate, friendships, gardening, long walks, and bird watching. Anne led a healthy, sober life for her last 45 plus years. Her favorite quiet places she practiced her daily mediations were on her sunporch, sitting in her chair, nestled in the backyard overlooking multiple perennial gardens, singing birds, and basking in the sunshine.

She attended her AA meetings regularly most every Saturday morning with the aid of her dear friend and driver as recent as two months ago. She leaves behind many loved friends, neighbors, and family. The three children she leaves are: April Anne Torname of Palm Beach, FLA, Shawn Patrick Morrissey and daughter in law, the late Ellen Cahoon of Davis, NC , Erin Meisner and son-in law Jeffrey Meisner of West Newbury, MA. Anne treasured her time with her beautiful grandchildren Christopher and Casey Torname of Salem, NH, and Emily, Caden, Caleb and Sarah Meisner of West Newbury, MA.

A Funeral Service will be held at Trinitarian Congregational Church 72 Elm Street, North Andover, MA 01845 Friday June 21, 11:00 AM
