ANNE SERBEN Obituary

Published by Edmonton Journal on Jul. 13, 2012.
SERBEN, Anne (nee: Semeniuk)
On Saturday, July 7, 2012, Anne Serben of Edmonton passed away at the age of 88 years.
Anne was a loving wife and homemaker who worked hard on the farm in Waskatenau with her husband, Paul. They later moved to Edmonton where she was involved in many organizations, including the St. John's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Edmonton Weaving Guild and the Northgate Lions Centre. She loved to cook and we will miss the family dinners, as well as her beautiful gardens. We want to thank the staff at Jasper Place Continuing Care, Millennium Pavilion, as well as Dr. Shirley Gee and her staff for the loving care provided to our mother. Anne will be missed for her sense of humor and smile.
Anne is survived by her children, Dan (Jane), Randy (Rose), Linda, Brian (Colleen), and Arlene (Bryan); fifteen grandchildren, Corrina (Mike), Carris (Jamie), Candace, Daniel (Kelly), Shawna (Doug), Chris (Amber), Daniel, Jason (Heather), Cory, Francis, Kerrie (Lorne), Crystal (Max), Michael (Sasha), Gina, and Kelsey; and eleven great-grandchildren, Danica, Dalton, Avery, Addison, Garrett, Gabielle, Wyatt, Luc, Jonah, Max and Samuel. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul; parents, Mary and Tony; brothers, Alex, George, Bill and Harry; and Joe Bok.
Prayers Sunday, July 15 at 8:00 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 - 111 Avenue, Edmonton. Funeral Rite Monday, July 16 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 10951 - 107 Street. Reverend Father Cornell Zubritsky officiating with interment in St. Michael's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Edmonton Chapter, #107, 17321 - 108 Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5S 1G2 or Alberta Diabetes Foundation, 1-020 HRIF East, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB T6G 2E1.
