ROCK HILL - Mrs. Annie Hunsucker Shaw, 88, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at home.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at West End Baptist Church, with the Revs. Jerry Sosebee, Jerry Devinney and Dan Wackerhagen officiating. Burial will be private.
A native of Rock Hill, S.C., Mrs. Shaw was a daughter of the late Sylvester Curtis Hunsucker and the late Clara Gordon Hunsucker. She graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1940 and married Howard Lucas Shaw in 1946. She was a homemaker who assisted her husband in running the family owned furniture store, Shaw Furniture. She also worked at A&P Tea Company for four years. She was a member of West End Baptist Church.
Surviving are four sons, Larry Shaw, Danny Shaw and wife, Kelly, of Rock Hill, Johnny Shaw and wife, Sharon, of Fort Mill, S.C., and Eddie Shaw of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; her brother, James Edward Hunsucker; her sister, Catherine Edwina "Wink" Jonas; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Samuel Curtis Hunsucker and Robert West Hunsucker and three sisters, Laura Jeanette Whittle, Frances Hunsucker and Nell Marshall Gibson.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
Memorials may be made in Mrs. Shaw's name to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731, or to West End Baptist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 36038, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel is assisting the Shaw family.

Both your parents are in Heaven being greatly rewarded for their leadership in Westend Baptist. My son David worked delivering the last of the furniture from your store-both the Shaws were great people that showed him the life of a Christian.

Ann Shaw was the epitome of a fine Southern lady. God fearing, strong, gentle and loving. She will be missed by many. I am smiling at the thought of Ann and Howard's reunion. Now his Annie is with him for eternity. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
