Anthony Bland Obituary
A Memorial Service for Anthony "Tony" Bland of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Friday, January 16, 2015, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home, with Chaplain Susie Wilson officiating.
Tony passed away January 10, 2015, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 68. He was born June 19, 1946, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Thomas and Lorna Bland. He married Mary Therkelsen on December 17, 1966, at Kirksville, Missouri and owned his own floor covering business. Tony was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Tony lived in Mountain Home since 1982, moving from Waterloo, Iowa. He enjoyed auctions, photography and spending time with his grandson, Clay.
Tony is survived by his wife, Mary Bland of Mountain Home, AR; mother, Lorna Bland of Mountain Home, AR; one brother; son, Mark Bland of Mountain Home, AR, daughter, Tracey (David) Thorn of Cotter, AR; aunt, Betty Ferguson of Mountain Home, AR; two nieces, Tina Beltz of Independence, IA and Celena Kennedy of Mountain Home, AR and grandson, Clay Strain of Cotter, AR. He was preceded in death by his father.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and United States Army Honor Guards.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
