Anthony Ciccarelli Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 17, 2024.
Jupiter - Anthony "Tony" Joseph Ciccarelli was called home to Heaven on November 19, 2023. He passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving wife Anna in Florida at Jupiter Medical Center after a brief illness.

Anthony was born in Camden, New Jersey on October 29, 1928 and was a long time resident of Cherry Hill. He was a graduate of The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, PA.

During his early musical career, he was a member of The Houston Symphony Orchestra, The Cleveland Orchestra, The Cleveland Pops Orchestra and The Philadelphia Orchestra performing on clarinet, bass clarinet and saxophone.

"Mr C." established a flourishing teaching studio for students from NJ, PA and DE seeking his musical tutelage on the woodwind instruments, piano, theory, composition and orchestration. He held a master's degree in Conducting, Orchestration and Music Education.

Tony was also a former church organist for St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Philadelphia, PA, a member of The International Clarinet Society and a soloist and clinician for schools, colleges and professional musical organizations throughout the country.

In 1990, Mr. Ciccarelli became a full-time Florida resident living in the Orlando area. There, he became a member of The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and then later moved to Jupiter in 1996 along with his wife Anna.

Tony was a private music instructor for the last 26 years of his life as well as a performer in ensembles, local orchestras, churches, high end hotel venues, cruise ships and private homes. He also enjoyed volunteering for churches and helping students in need.

Mr. Ciccarelli has shared his gift of music, love, laughter and kindness throughout the world. His enduring legacy will live on in the lives of his family, friends, countless students, written publications and recorded performances.

Tony was a humble, God loving gentleman who was well educated and enjoyed antiques, literature, photography, architecture and selling real estate. He also took joy in the simple pleasures in life such as cooking, fishing, sitting on the beach, swimming in the ocean, watching good movies, enjoying beautiful sunsets and showing the people in his life how much he loved and cared for them.

In addition to his parents, John and Mary, he was predeceased by his sisters, Josephine, Mildred, Clara and Ida; and his son Gregory. Mr. Ciccarelli is survived by his beloved wife Anna Bianco Ciccarelli; sons, Gary and Grant; granddaughter, Linda Crystal Ciccarelli-Meade (Kenneth); great granddaughter, Sophia Ann Meade and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was greatly loved by his family, many friends, students and colleagues and will be missed by all who knew him.

A memorial celebration will be held at The Sanctuary Church in Jupiter, FL on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 10:30 a.m.
