I found out through Katie Durant from the old neighborhood about the passing of Mr. Dimitri. I am really sorry to Tony, John, and Mrs. Dimitri for your loss. Mr. Dimitri was a good man with great character. It has been a long time but I am sure it has reflected on his two sons. I will pray for your family as I know God will take care of you.

I worked in high school sports with Anthony for many years. He was always friendly and cooperative and treated me like a friend. Even after tough losses or when we had to address difficult issues, he was always helpful and kind. I'll miss his smile and will always remember his many contributions to the program at Jordan. What a class act! My deepest sympathy to his family both at home and at Jordan High.

It's always too early for a loved one to die and grieving for him can be very hard work. I'm so sorry that Coach Dimitri's death was at such a young age. It seems he made a life that overflowed with great relationships and professional success, though, doesn't it?
May the Lord bless and hold each of Coach Dimitri's family members very close. Maybe it will help if you purposefully keep the lessons and love Coach Dimitri showed each of you fresh in your memory.

To the family of Coach Dimitri: I'm so very sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. Tony and John: Some of my most precious memories include your father, you guys and "the brickyard." The memories we shared on that field will last a lifetime. As you already know, he was a great man inside and out. I offer my condolences.
Coach: I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life. You were always encouraging those around you to be the very best at whatever you do. You've taught me that "character" and temperament are the two most important attributes that a man must possess. You were a great coach, friend, and role model; and for that, I thank you.

Tony and John,
You already know how much your dad meant to me. He was my coach, my mentor and my friend. It's not often a player has a relationship with a former coach like we had for 25 years. We shared many great times hunting, fishing and cooking.
Both of you made him a very proud father. We were never together when he didn't mention both of your names (even at the CAMP!). Please know he's in a better place now, and we are here for you both.

Coach Dimitri was great coach and a great friend to my family and I. I enjoyed having him there to help me throughout my high school years. He was also there to help me through a rough time when my father passed away 06. To John and Tony, you guys hang in there, I know what you are going through, and I know it is tough. If I can say anything, when you begin to feel down and out, just think what would he want you to be doing. Coach D, you will be greatly missed and thanks for being a great friend and role model to all.

It is hard to express the gratitude I have for you Anthony. You helped me out professionally when I was a complete stranger to you. You took a chance on a young kid early in his career and I will always be thankful for that. I will always remember the fun times we shared golfing, fishing and boating. You were a great father, great boss, but above all a dear friend. I will miss you, but will never forget you. I am a better person for knowing you. I wish I could be there to say all of this and say goodbye in person. Thank you for being you.
To Tony and John, I extend my deepest sympathies for you both. Your father was a caring and sincere man. I wish you both the strength to live on with him not around. I know how much he cared for you two and how close you three were. If I can ever help either of you, please don't hesitate to ask. My heart hurts for you both.

Anthony-
You are a class act; always positive, but realistic. You were an invaluable asset to the school and community. You epitomized the Red Jacket spirit in your determination to do "what you could with what you had".
I enjoyed working with you and getting to know you personally during our years at Jordan. I will always remember that laugh and "quick step". How many times did you come into my classroom after lunch, sit down and ask: "Whats up Big D"? When I told you what was going on; you always laughed, smiled. and shook your head. You were always "in a hurry" to get somewhere, but always had time for a friend.
Take care and know that you made a difference in many lives.
" Big D"
