Anthony (Tony Bone) Dorsey, 82, peacefully passed away on November 14, 2022.
Mr. Dorsey became a professional trombonist that was affectionately called "Tony Bone". He was a composer, arranger, and bandleader. His musical talents eventually landed him a dream job traveling with Paul McCartney and Wings on the "Wings Over the World" and "Wings Over America" tours until 1980. Mr. Dorsey continued to perform with his own band titled "Bone, Holmes and Friends" which traveled the Southeast region of the United States until they officially retired in 2008.
His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife, Mary Dorsey of Macon; sister, Jeanne Dorsey Stafford of Lousiana; daughters; Beverly Evans of Louisiana, Tanzy Kilcrease (Antwon) of Macon and April Crawley (Sherdan) of Warner Robins; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service in his honor will take place on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Welcome Center Church on 5636 Wood Oak Drive, Macon, Georgia. Services entrusted to Bentley & Sons Funeral Home, Macon, GA.

I remember Bone, Holmes and Friends playing at Georgia Southern in the mid 70's. I also remember how cool it was for him to tour with Paul McCartney. During a Chamber of Commerce bus trip to the state capitol one year, it was a real treat to hear Tanzy tell me a few stories of her Dad's career. Another Macon Musical legend.
