Anthony Franchini Obituary

Anthony J. Franchini, a former Bookkeeper at West Point, N.Y., died January 2, 2007 at Valley View Nursing Home in Goshen. He was 89.

He was born to the late Philip and Isabelle Franchini on March 14, 1917 in Newburgh, N.Y. Anthony proudly served his country in the United States Army, in which he received an American Campaign Medal and a World War II Victory Medal.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine "Kitty" Franchini of New Windsor; his daughter, Arlene Thompson and her husband, Charles of Orleans, Mass.; a son, Philip Franchini of New York, N.Y.; sisters, Pauline Townsend and Theresa Marro; and grandchildren: Dorian Thompson and Aaron and Evan Franchini.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Genevieve Franchini.

There was no public visitation.

A graveside service with military honors was held on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Calvary Cemetery in New Windsor.

His funeral arrangements were under the direction of Coloni Funeral Home, 3001 Route 9W, New Windsor, N.Y.
