WILKIE, Laura May Peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at St. Patrick's Home in her 92nd year. Daughter of the late William B. Wilkie and Nellie M. Grand. Predeceased by her siblings Marguerite (the late Richard Lake), Ann (the late Alex Forrest), Bill (the late Violet Larkin) and Alex (Dorothy Lepine). Dear aunt of Carol (Charles Donohue), John Wilkie (Cathy Gray) and Bill Wilkie. Great aunt of Shannon (Brent Smith and their children Violet and Donovan), Jennifer, Seana and Brendan Donohue, James and Kelly Wilkie and Colleen (Troy Dobson and their son Riley). Laura was a teacher for many years at Rockliffe Park Public School, Featherston Public School and Ottawa Teachers College. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers of the 2nd floor of St. Patrick's Home for the loving care they showed to Laura. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor) on Thursday, March 3 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Patrick's Home Chapel, 2865 Riverside Drive on Friday at 1 pm. Those wishing may make donations to St. Patrick's Home Building Fund.

Our sincere sympathy to Carol and family. Words cannot express our deep sadness. Laura was a kind, generous woman, dedicated to the promotion of education. She was a very exceptional person who made those around her feel very special. Her encouragement and smile will always be remembered. We will never forget her kindness and generosity to our family and we will cherish our many fond memories of her. Peace and love.
