Anthony Marciano Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 15, 2015.
Anthony "AJ" Marciano passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015 surrounded by his loving wife and family.
AJ's zest for life was displayed not only through teaching and exploring with his son, Ryder, but how he mentored and lead all of those around him. His passion for the arts and music were his life beat. AJ's love for travel began as a young child when his family moved to Saudi Arabia and continued taking him to many places throughout his lifetime.
AJ graduated from Missouri Southern State University in 1999 with a Bachelors of Business Economics and Finance. AJ has been employed by Chicago Bridge & Iron (CB&I) in The Woodlands, TX for the past seven years where he served as Senior Director of Global Project Controls. He was previously employed by Fluor Corporation of Greenville, SC as Project Control Lead from 2001 to 2008.
AJ is survived by his wife, Michelle Leclair Marciano and son, Ryder Avery Marciano of Montgomery, Texas; Mother, Remona J. Marciano, and Father, Anthony J. Marciano of Las Vegas, NV; Sister, Kristie Buswell, husband, Heath Buswell; nephew, DJ Buswell, and niece, Sammie Buswell of San Diego, CA; Father-in-law, Gary Griffin and Mother-in law, Rene Griffin; Sister-in-law, Meredeth Greene, and husband, Michael Greene, nephew, Gage Greene, and niece, Kylee Greene of Matthews, NC.
AJ will be missed immensely by his loving wife, Michelle and sweet, precocious son, Ryder. He will always be remembered for his positive outlook, sense of humor, humble nature, and giving heart.

AJ was my big brother and while we may not have always got along he was still and always will be my big brother. My brother could be an amazing person and he could also be a pain but that is seen through the eyes of a little sister. We had our disagreements and I wish there had been time enough to have a better relationship. He was special in so many ways and had an ability to make anyone around him feel like they were special. He took chances on people and gave them a way to view themselves that caused them to hold their heads up just a little bit higher. He will forever be the guy with a big smile and a bear hug waiting for his family. I love you AJ and wish you could have seen my children and yours grow into the special people you would have inspired them to be.

I met AJ my senior year in High School, we were quick friends. We were roommates in five different places, across three different states, encompassing nearly 15 nonconsecutive years. His support and friendship helped me through a wandering time while I worked towards my professional career.

I have a trove of great memories with AJ. Everything from concerts, movies, uHauls, luxury boxes, horrible apartments the gamut of life experiences. But when I reflect back on those experiences, I realize that most often it was his demeanor, that shaped those experiences into lasting memories.

There has been an outpour of people talking about the goodness in AJ. His generosity. His compassion. His positive spirit. All of which are true. But one thing in particular that stands out to me, is how he was so non-reactionary. I don't believe I ever saw him snap to judgment or become suddenly angry. And while I have mellowed with age, I'm still to fault, a short fused firecracker. AJ recognized this and would laugh at my sudden anger. He would look at me with a smile, chuckle, then say, "You just get so mad. So quick.". And those few words often times defused the whole situation. And it forced me to think about my actions and to try to bring a calmer demeanor into the next frustrating situation.

Without his friendship, support and generosity my life would have much different narrative. And in reading what others have said about him, it has become clear to me, that everyone saw the goodness in AJ. And despite our long history, I didn't know AJ any better than anyone else. I just happened to have know him maybe a bit longer. But everyone saw the goodness. And I am grateful for knowing AJ.

Our son in law AJ was a loving, special addition to our family. He was funny, a trait we enjoyed. He would jump in to help out at all family events, never asked, and we would say to other men, see AJ understands and helps.

He was professional and personal with every new person he met, and truly listened to them. You felt immediately his sincerity and caring spirit.

Michelle and Ryder had the best man for a husband and father. To know AJ Marciano was to love 'um. It was just that simple.

Now, playing games or cards, you saw different AJ, very sneaky and lot of game " trash talking". Half to say, he did play well and was hard to beat with his awesome math skills. AJ laughed at me a lot when it came to math, Michelle gets it from her Mom. Ha Ha.

He sweated in the heat at Hilton Head Island, SC beach trips, with us; trying to cover his fair skin and head as he was blistering up. He would not be out- done with us all day beach lovers. Bless him, he was miserable.
In his short 39 years, he left a legacy of love and caring that we will hold onto forever.

With sadness in my heart, I say farewell to you AJ. You loved and were loved and I promise to tell Ryder all about you, and he will know his daddy and feel the support of our family.

Hugs,
Rene Griffin, aka: Mom 2

In a short period of time A.J. became an inspiration to our family always willing to pitch in on family endeavors and the first to ask "What can I do". I must say A.J. was the ultimate overachiever in just one day he became a husband, father, son, uncle, brother-in-law, grandson and cousin to our family a feat not many people have ever achieved. I will never forget the memories he engraved in my heart. Happy Trails until we meet again. Love Gary aka "Pops"
