PILOT MOUNTAIN - Mr. James Weldon Moran, 76, of Creek Haven Lane passed away Dec. 14, 2002, at his home. He was born June 16, 1926, in Stokes County to W.V. and Elizabeth Stewart Moran. Mr. Moran was a retired farmer and of the Primitive Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Brona Nixon Moran of the home; two daughters and son-in-law, Debbie Eldridge of Mount Airy and Terri Dashney and husband Larry of Pilot Mountain; a son and daughter-in-law, Danny Moran and wife Pam of Pinnacle; five grandchildren, Shannon Cook, Adam Eldridge, Anthony Baca, Ashley Baca, and Molly Dashney; two great-grandchildren, Austin Cook and Noah Cook; a sister, Marie Marshall of Pinnacle; two brothers, Thurman Moran of Linwood and Winfred Moran of Mount Airy. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at Cox-Needham Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tom Beck and Elder Rodney Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Cox-Needham Funeral Home on Sunday evening, Dec. 15, 2002, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Northern Hospice, P.O. Box 6626, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
