Anthony Lane Overton Sr.

Anthony Overton Sr. was born March 28, 1964 to his loving parents, Mr. James and Mrs. Annie Overton in New Orleans, Louisiana. Anthony grew lovingly to the standard and values of his family. His loving bond for his four brothers and three sisters was unquestionable. Anthony was a proud alumni of Walter L. Cohen Senior High School class of 1982. He would further his collegiate education at Oklahoma Panhandle State University and later transferred to Southern University of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1988. Anthony became the cherished and loved husband of Carla Cornish-Overton in 1989. Through this beautiful union was birthed two sons, Anthony "Smokey" Overton Jr. and Kerry "KJ" Overton. Anthony was a proud father and most certainly a loving husband. Anthony's belief in God was shown through his membership at Milesville Memorial Church of God in Christ. Anthony was the proud owner of Over-A-Ton Services LLC. He was employed with the Port of New Orleans as a Longshoreman Truck Driver. Anthony will forever be remembered as: The Fun, Football loving, Racetrack going, Kangol Hat and Sunglass wearing, Cologned up and clean car brother, from uptown New Orleans to LaPlace yes he was that brother. Anthony departed this life April 2, 2022 leaving to cherish his legacy and memories of a joyful life lived: his wife Carla Cornish-Overton, two sons; Anthony Overton Jr. and Kerry Overton. Parents, James and Annie Overton. Siblings, Larry Overton Sr. (Tammie), Cavetta Wiltz (Brian), Gregory Overton , Stanley Overton Sr. (Sadie), Wayne Overton Sr., and Charlotte Riley (Darren) and a host of nieces and nephews. Anthony is preceded in death by: his sister Karen Overton Ellis, fraternal grandparents, Willie Boy and Margaret Overton. Maternal grandparents, Hose and Sadie Spears. Nephews, James Overton, Jovan Overton and Dante Overton. Until we meet again in our eternal life, may we hold securely to the precious memories shared with Our Beloved Anthony Lane Overton Sr.
