Anthony Joseph Paruzynski, Lt. Col. USMC (Ret.), age 58 of Virginia Beach died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005. Lt. Col. Paruzynski retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after 23 years of service. He served five campaigns in Vietnam and was a recipient of many decorations including the Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. Survivors include his daughter Christina Sullivan and her husband James R. of Fairfax; his son Nicholas A. Paruzynski and his fiancee Stephanie Kassay of Athens, Ala.; two grandchildren Ashlyn and Avery; his fiancee Gloria S. Hernandez of Milwaukee, Wis.; and his former wife Nancy M. Paruzynski of Manassas. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005 at Price Funeral Home, 9609 Center St., Manassas, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005. My sincere condolences to Tony's entire faimly. I new Tony from way back, South 7th Street, the Journal Station and high school. Thank you Tony for your years of service. You will be in my prayers.
