Anthony J. Petrillo

12/29/46 - 7/4/25

Anthony J. Petrillo, 78, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 4, 2025. He was the son of Carmine and Angelina Petrillo (d). He was born on 12/29/46 in Newark, NJ and is survived by his daughters Traci Teller (William) and Toni Petrillo; his twin brother Carmine Petrillo; nephews David Petrillo (Gina) and Michael Petrillo; great nieces Anna and Gianna Petrillo; and great nephews Anthony (Dana) and Brandon Petrillo. He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Sacca and niece Ann Sacca. He is also survived by sister-in-law Mary Petrillo and his loving partner of 18 years, Wendy K. Young, her daughter, Tyler and son, Stephen Young.

As a young man, he was an altar boy and delivered eggs for his father. He worked at a gas station, painted nuclear facilities, and eventually wound up as a managing computer programmer for Plumrose, Inc. Tony moved to Hernando Beach, Florida where he opened a restaurant, Reef and Beef. He then moved to Easton and worked for his best buddy, Mel Hodges of Hodges Technologies. He worked for St. John's Lutheran Church, Nazareth, PA as Managing Sexton and member of Helping Hands. He was the Maintenance Manager at the Historical Society of Bethlehem and also worked for Gracedale Nursing Home in his retirement.

We would also like to acknowledge his other long-time friend, Anita Bowlby, who also loved him. Unfortunately, space does not allow for the naming of all of his friends, but you know who you are.

Tony loved to build and fix things, to grow vegetables and flowers, to help people. He had a special connection with animals of all kinds. Shortly after his sister passed, a butterfly landed on his head, went down his arm and sat on his finger for the longest time. He made life more beautiful. He had a grace and understanding of people and the world that was incomparable. His love of life, sense of humor and giving heart will always be remembered and honored by his family and many long-time friends.

The impact he had on so many people, everywhere he went, is indelible. Our hearts are broken, but we know he is safe, happy and no longer suffering. His indominable spirit lives on and he is our Guardian Angel.

Services will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, with visitation at 10:00 AM and service at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Nazareth, PA, followed by interment in the Columbarium. Joseph F. Reichel Funeral Home, Inc., Nazareth, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Dear Tony,
We are very blessed to have known you and spent your last 4 years with us. We started our conversation when you delivered your delicious cheesecake to our house and welcoming us in the neighborhood. That moment we really felt that the Lord led us to the right neighbors (you and Wendy became our friends and FAMILY). You were very sweet to us especially to Monica - who loves you very much and still praying for you. Brian and I promise to keep your memory to Monica and she will grow up knowing how good you were to us.
We will miss you physically but we are consoled knowing you are free from all earthly pains and sufferings and enjoying Heaven.
We love you!

I'm thankful that the Lord has made you a part of my life. You certainly brought laughter into the family, especially on holidays back in the day. From Aunt Betty's football meatloaf to food fights while gram was flipping out, to a huge evergreen tree that you attempted to put lights on but only did 1/4 of the base. Lol. I remember a couple wrestling matches where you clearly held back, even though you were out numbered, Halloween costumes that you tossed on, and faithfully calling to wish me a happy birthday, and rightfully so since it was 1 day after yours. Lol. I'm thankful you were a part of my life Unk. Good memories. Love -Mike

My Dearest Tone,

It feels impossible to write this, to try and put into words the depth of what you mean to me as we face this unbearable goodbye. You, my sweet love, are the kindest, gentlest, most giving person I have ever known, and the thought of a world without you in it feels utterly desolate. Every memory I have of you is infused with your boundless compassion. You saw the best in everyone, offered comfort without hesitation, and gave so freely of yourself, never expecting anything in return. Your gentle touch, your reassuring smile, your quiet strength-these are the things that have been the anchors of my life. You taught me what it truly means to love, to be patient, and to find joy in the simplest moments. I will carry your spirit with me, always. I will try to embody the kindness you showed, to live with the generosity you exemplified, and to love as deeply as you loved me. You have left an indelible mark on my heart, and though the pain of losing you is immense, I am so profoundly grateful for every single moment we shared.

Thank you, my darling, for everything. Thank you for being you.
You are, and always will be, the greatest gift.
With all my love, always and forever, Wendy
