Anthony Sciara Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 8, 2024.
Anthony Alfonse Sciara, affectionately known as Tony, passed away on September 4, 2024, in Phoenix, AZ. Born on May 17, 1966 in Gary Indiana, Tony's vibrant personality and zest for life left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Tony graduated from Alhambra High School and dedicated his career to being an electrician, a job he executed with passion and excellence. He was not only a master of his trade but also a willing helper, always ready to lend a hand with various projects for family and friends.

Outside of work, Tony's life was rich with hobbies and interests. He was an avid fisherman, often seen casting lines with his beloved grandson, Atticus. Tony's love for the outdoors extended to camping and creating memorable experiences in nature. He had a particular flair for decorating during the holidays and took great joy in entertaining those he loved.

A cinephile, Tony could recite dialogues from his favorite films verbatim, much to the delight and amusement of his family and friends. His culinary skills shone during his barbecues, whether it was a simple backyard grill or a more elaborate setup during his trips to Mexico.

Tony is survived by his mother, Donna Sciara; brother, Francis (Frank) Sciara, 2 stepdaughters Tiffany Nyugen and Jessica Bryant and 10 grandchildren Reality (Allie), Atticus, Zayson, Hector, Hailey, Elijah, Tristan, Tyrus, Thayla, Taliah, aunts, Carmella Miline, Michelle Hernandez, Lynn Kelly-Miller (Bee); uncles, Joseph Sciara and Kyle Hurley; and many loving cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Francis Sciara; brother Ricardo (Rick) Sciara; aunts JoAnne Merifield, Leanardra Sciara, Paula Mastrapasqua, Janis Walsh, Karen McHugh; and uncles Edward J. Hurley Jr. (Butch) and Kevin Hurley.

A celebration of life will be held, with details available upon contacting family members. Tony's memory will forever resonate within the hearts of those he touched, embodying the spirit of a man who was truly the life of the party and a cherished presence in the lives of his family and friends.

Love you cousin. You will be missed. Already are. I'll miss laughing about quoting our funny quotes from movies. Thank you for always being there for me and making me laugh when I needed to.
