ANTHONY SPAZIANO Obituary
Anthony loved his work as a police officer and was extremely dedicated to the North Provi dence Police Department. He received numerous commendations and was the recipient of the J. Edgar Hoover Award for Meritorious Service and Heroism above and beyond the call of duty. He dearly loved his nieces and nephews and was an avid Yankee fan and golfer.
He leaves four brothers, Col. Ernest C. Spaziano, retired NPPD, David Ziroli, Ernest Spaziano, Jr. and William Spaziano; a sister, Ann Meneghini and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m., from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. VISITATION Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Condolences at maceroni.com

To the Spaziano Family,
We grew up together and we all have some very fond memories of Anthony and our childhood days.The gulf course sliding down 12 hill,Frog ponds,goats eating Dunkin Donuts,the pig farm,Tony's cherry tree,Panone's candy store,Camaroes and Mustangs in the late 60's and many more fun adventures. Although we have lost touch Anna, Anthony and Ernie were very close to me and my brothers and sisters. The Andrade Family wish to express our deepest sympathy to the Spaziano Family in this time of lost.
It is quite shocking that you have left us at such a young age.

To the family of Anthony Spaziano: My deepest sympathy to your family at this time. I was umpiring a softball game in Pawtucket back in the 70's when I was attacked by a player. Tony came to my defense and help stop a bad situation. Tony played in our league for many years and was a class act. May God bless you at this time. My sincere condolences to Anthony's family. He was a wonderful person, very sincere and compassionate. I always enjoyed his company. He was passionate about running the yearly golf tounament for the benefit of children with cardiac problems. I know he will be missed by many.

Anthony was a wonderful person. He had such a passion for baseball (espcially Yankee Baseball) and golf. He loved to share his passion for the two things in the "deep" discussions he would have. He was like a walking encyclopedia of Yankee Baseball History! His smile was contagious. He will be missed. May god bless his family during this difficult time.

It brings me great sorrow to hear of the loss of Anthony. He was a dear friend and true inspiration to all who had worked with him. A dedicated, loyal, and relentless police officer who had a passion to keep the residents of North Providence safe. Anthony always operated above and beyond the call of duty as a police officer and a friend in need in difficult times. He was also an individual full of love and compassion, who had a keen understanding of life.
