Antoinette "Toni" Agar

After a long illness with cancer, Antoinette "Toni" Agar,76, died on April 12, 2009. She was born in Portland, OR on December 9, 1932 to Antoinette and Peter Kuljis who emigrated from Croatia, part of the former Yugoslavia.
Mr. Kuljis was a commercial fisherman and the family moved frequently to follow the fishing seasons. They settled in Everett, WA where Toni graduated from Everett High School with the class of 1950.
She immediately became employed with a Seattle, WA, telephone company and continued working for such firms as Scott Paper, Alaska Airlines, Hegewald Timber, Louisiana Pacific, Riverview Savings and finally with the Skamania County PUD.
Among her favorite activities were family gatherings, cooking new recipes, traveling and gardening. She was especially pleased to be able to travel twice to her parent's birth place in Croatia where she visited with six of her first cousins, the first trip was with her husband and the second with her grandsons.
She met her husband Dennis Agar in high school. They were married on August 28, 1953. Mr. Agar took his first teaching position in Stevenson, WA at Stevenson Elementary School in 1956 following his graduation from the University of Washington, and they have remained Stevenson residents.
They became parents of three children, Lori Agar, of Auburn, WA, Lynn Agar, of Carson, WA and Jeff Agar, of White Salmon, WA. She was also a proud grandmother of Lynn's sons, Kyle Weber, of Vancouver, WA and Matthew Weber, of Carson, WA. She is also survived by her husband; her sister, Wini Cutsforth, of Portland, OR; her brother, John Kuljis, of Everett, WA; and many loved nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a heart felt thanks to all her friends and family who helped support her throughout her ordeal. Also, thanks to Hospice of the Gorge for their devoted care in her final weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be given to Hospice of the Gorge, Hood River, OR.
As she requested, services will be private following cremation.

My thoughts to your family. My memories are of Toni and her sister, Wini, in the 1940's, until we all finished high school. I will always cherish the many good memories.
