Antoinette Vaccaro Mayer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 1, 2014.
Ocean - Antoinette Sue Vaccaro Mayer died Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. She was 56.

She was raised in Lakewood and resided in Ocean for over 30 years.

Aside from her love for the ocean, cooking and reading, Antoinette's entire life was her family – she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. A nurturing, caring, and passionate woman, she would give whatever she could to help a person in need. In her earlier years, she volunteered at Head Start in Lakewood and, in her later years, at the heart center at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Antoinette was an all-around beautiful person and she will be truly missed.

Surviving are 2 daughters: Brenda Karinja and her husband Matthew of Ocean, and Jennifer Trocchio and her husband Anthony of Ocean; 6 grandchildren: Haley, Bobby & Johnny Karinja and Sophia, Gabriella & Ava Trocchio; her companion of over 30 years, Richard Torsiello; a sister, Bernadette Vaccaro; 3 brothers: Vincent and his wife Debbie of Pt. Pleasant Beach; John and his wife Dana of Freehold, and Martin of Farmingdale; and a large extended family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12PM at St. Mary of the Lake RC Church, Lakewood. Interment will follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.

Friends may call at D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood on Friday from 4-9PM. For more information, or to post a tribute online, please visit www.deliafuneralhome.com.

Dear Ann, Many years of friendship in Lakewood we had. My move to CA separated us, though I will never forget your heart.

Friends are the angels that lift us up when our wings have forgotten how to fly.

Rest in peace. My prayers to the family.

Beginnings are almost always scary, and endings are usually sad...but it's the middle that matters most. What a wonderful middle Ann had. What a gift to all of us who loved her. May the love of friends bring you comfort, and the love of God bring you peace.
