Anton "Tony" Lucke

Anton ""Tony' Lucke, 96, of Grand Forks, North Dakota died Saturday, March 13, 2004 at the Tufte Manor, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Tony Lucke was born May 21, 1907 in Petersburg, North Dakota the son of Theodore and Hilda (Pinchla) Lucke. He grew up and attended school in rural Petersburg, North Dakota. He worked for area farmers from 1927-1939. He married Marion LaBelle on May 9, 1935 in Portland, North Dakota. She died July 4, 1987. From 1939-1942 he worked for the North Dakota Highway Department. From 1942-1945 he worked in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for the Canadian/American National Oil Line, and in 1944 he opened the Northern Repair, in Grand Forks, retiring in 1972. He married Viola Bolstad in East Grand Forks, Minnesota on December 28, 1988. For 20 years following his retirement he worked for Lystads/Ecolab as a vehicle fleet transporter, putting on tens of thousands of miles, doing what he loved, driving. He is survived by his wife Viola of Grand Forks, 3 sons, James (Connie) Lucke of Grand Forks; Gerald (Peggy) Lucke of Grand Forks; Robert (Helen) Lucke of Indianapolis, Indiana; 1 brother Marshall (Lucille) of Beaverton, Oregon; 6 grandchildren, Joycelyn Humphrey, Alissa Lucke, Jaimee Lucke, Brad Lucke, Brian Lucke, and Jon Lucke, and 1 great grandchild, Theron Humphrey, a step-son Norman (Linda) Bolstad, step-daughter Treva (Erick) Schorman. He is preceded in death by his parents, and 4 siblings, Helma Lucke, John Lucke, Lloyd Lucke, and Lida Hartford. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, the East Grand Forks Eagles #350, where he was past president in 1963. Memorial Services: 10:00 a.m, Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Visitation: 1 hour before services at the church. Burial: his body will be donated to the University of North Dakota Medical School. Arrangements by Stennes Funeral Home, East Grand Forks, Minnesota.
